Oh wow, I have three days in Kharkiv coming up and now I'm going to have to try to sneak in a visit here between delivering humanitarian aid and picking up body armour... such is Kharkiv.

How much food did you eat on the train? That's what I want to know. About your upcoming book, distribution is king.

So overnight trains don’t sell food, only cups of tea and coffee. I had a cereal bar in my bag - and at around midnight the train stopped at a tiny station for long enough for passengers to get off and buy snacks or warm pyrizhky pies from people who cycle up and down the platform - I did buy a pie but then fell asleep before I managed to get around to it.

I hope you are collecting all these recipes on your travels Felicity - how about a book for a fund raiser? Then we can share the flavours of Ukraine from far away. 💙

I am finishing writing a book which will be published next year, although it is stories rather than recipes. If it makes any profits all of it will go to Ukraine!
