Victoria Belim is a writer, a perfumer, and now an evacuation volunteer in the most dangerous part of Ukraine. She doesn’t just witness the reality of war - she helps those who are at the lowest point in life.
Thank you, Felicity. I have been following Victoria for some time. I have the greatest respect for her and. the other volunteers. It is dreadful work to have to undertake, but they do so willingly. Theirs is an organization which is so deserving of any donations we can make.
I worry, given how perilous the situation is, that people won't choose to evacuate. I suspect making it easier for them to stay may not always be a kindness. There will be a time when supplies cannot be safely delivered. I just hope it is not too late. Soon Ukraine will win.
One of my favorite woman-heroes writing about another one of my favorite woman-heroes in this surreal Ukrainian universe of real-people-living-real-lives-in-war is just what I needed to read today. 🇺🇦♥️
I adore Victoria! She has taught me that one can be ‘constrained by circumstances, but not defined’. (a paraphrase of what she actually wrote.) I’m in America and every day there’s another lie, another cruelty, another, another, another. But I can’t let that become my life. So, I define myself. And it keeps me free. ❤️
I think introducing Victoria to Bogdan was one of my best days of work yet!
100%! Thank you for connecting them!
Thank you, Anna!
Thank you for introducing us to yet another Wonder Woman. You all make so many of us believe in humanity again!
What a wonderful read about Victoria who I follow on Substack. Thank you for this. X
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us. I follow her and donate to the evacuation efforts. 😊🌻

What an extraordinary woman Victoria Belim is. I hope to read her book one day, I’m sure it will be equally memorable. Stay safe both of you.
I loved The Rooster House. Such a thoughtful book
How does one even learn 17 languages? All the safety and courage to amazing Victoria!
I have heard her break into Bulgarian or Persian and a few others languages too - so I know she’s really proficient in all of them!

I was just thinking the other day that our trips together have been absolute highlights, and I already look forward to more adventures with you.
Much love to you from me and Sophie!
